Corporate Director of Procurement

SUMMARY

The Head of Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain Management is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to procure essential ingredients, packaging, and indirect goods and services. This role involves managing supplier relationships, monitoring market trends, and ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining high quality and service standards.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute forward-looking procurement strategies to ensure long-term supply and cost certainty
  • Advise senior leadership on procurement, quality, and R&D risks, and propose alternative solutions
  • Create a balanced scorecard for cost, quality, service, and people-related metrics
  • Set annual productivity cost reduction plans to meet business objectives
  • Support new product launches and foster innovation
  • Establish professional relationships with senior leadership to drive procurement vision
  • Analyze monthly purchase price variance (PPV) and review indirect procurement cost plan
  • Take a hands-on approach and be willing to address business needs
  • Provide coaching, on-the-job training, and career development planning for the procurement team
  • Promote a culture of safety and maintain a safe work environment

QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role, the individual must excel in Microsoft Excel and Word and have experience in contract negotiation.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; MBA preferred.

A minimum of 10 years of experience

  • Experience in the food or beverage industry
  • Expertise in procuring agricultural commodities, packaging, and indirect goods/services
  • Drive and implement process improvement and system initiatives to enhance efficiency
  • Proficiency in utilizing strategic sourcing methodology to manage suppliers and mitigate supply risks
  • Experience in global sourcing is desirable
  • Ability to work independently while leading the growth of the procurement team
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills with attention to detail
