Information Security Engineer - Pensacola, FL
Our client is seeking a skilled Information Security Engineer to join their team in Pensacola, FL. As a part of a large mission critical development and sustainment program, the engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying advanced cybersecurity capabilities. This includes analyzing and testing software, networks, systems, and applications for security flaws or vulnerabilities.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for assessing and analyzing system security, recommending countermeasures, and preparing/update documentation. Additionally, they will assist in identifying and coordinating the protection of critical cybersecurity infrastructure and resources. Basic system design functions, testing technologies, and configuration and administration of cybersecurity tools and systems are also key responsibilities.
Required Skills:
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
• Ability to obtain DHS Suitability
• At least 2 years of experience in cyber security
• Familiarity with commercial cyber tools and technologies
• Knowledge of standard security principles, policies, standards, and industry best practices
• Proficient in networking (TCP/IP, topology, sockets, and security) and web technologies (Internet security)
• Experience or knowledge of intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), log analysis, malware analysis, network traffic flow, and packet analysis
• Understanding of Windows or Linux/Unix operating systems
• Familiarity with Government Information Security policies, regulations, and guidelines
Desired Skills:
• Experience with Security Event Incident Management (SEIM), Log Correlation, and Network Behavior Anomaly detection systems
• Knowledge of development languages such as Java, Swing, JUnit, Perl, Python, HTML
• Familiarity with VMware and virtual machines
• Ability to write custom tools and modify existing intrusion detection tools
• Experience with Agile development methodology
• Experience with automated testing tools
• Experience with one or more of the following:

Required Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Security, Software Engineering or a related discipline is required. (Four years of experience may be substituted for a degree.)
