Responsibilities:
- Utilize microscopy to examine prepared slides for abnormalities and provide accurate diagnoses
- Report negative cases using diagnostic codes and refer abnormal cases for further review by pathologists
- Maintain detailed records of daily work performed
- Thrive in a fast-paced laboratory environment
- Promote safety, compliance, and quality control
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited cytology school
- 1 year of laboratory training or experience in high complexity testing
- Certification as a Cytotechnologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists
- Excellent reading, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to operate general laboratory equipment (including telephones, computers, analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, pipettes, and audible alarms)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of laboratory training or experience
