We're looking for a passionate, experienced Dean to help lead this charge at our Fresno site.

In this role, you will oversee instructional and operational functions at the Workforce Development site, ensuring regulatory compliance, program quality, and alignment with institutional goals. You will serve as a key liaison between the academic program and clinical partners while supporting faculty, staff, and students through a dynamic, student-centered approach.

Key Responsibilities:

Academic and Site Operations:

  • Supervise daily nursing program activities and staff at the designated Workforce Development site.

  • Collaborate with the Dean of Workforce Development to implement projects, develop curriculum, and ensure program compliance.

  • Manage faculty assignments, student schedules, and clinical calendars.

  • Ensure program alignment with Board of Nursing and accreditor standards, including preparation for site visits, self-studies, reports, and proposals.

  • Maintain and update student records, faculty credentials, and required documentation in collaboration with HR.

  • Oversee program policies, procedures, handbooks, and operational supplies/equipment.

Clinical Oversight:

  • Evaluate clinical sites for risk, staffing, and alignment with program objectives.

  • Serve as the point of contact for clinical agencies and coordinate clinical placements, schedules, and faculty assignments.

  • Attend monthly meetings with clinical partners and address student-related issues, including disciplinary concerns.

  • Ensure faculty complete timely clinical evaluations and that all site contracts are current.

  • Maintain meeting records and participate in clinical consortia activities.

Faculty Leadership:

  • Participate in the development and delivery of instructional content across theory, skills lab, simulation, and clinical settings.

  • Guide strategic planning and faculty development initiatives.

  • Ensure all teaching activities follow best practices for adult learning and incorporate current technologies and instructional methods.

  • Coordinate completion of required evaluations, attendance, and skills checklists.

  • Monitor faculty compliance with program policies and clinical expectations.

  • Provide mentorship and oversight to faculty, ensuring consistent academic delivery and student support.

Student Engagement:

  • Organize and lead student orientations for clinical and lab settings.

  • Participate in the recruitment, admission, and academic advising of nursing students.

  • Facilitate weekly at-risk student meetings and contribute to academic success initiatives.

  • Ensure students meet all requirements for graduation and licensure eligibility.

  • Participate in NCLEX success planning and national best practices forums.

Qualifications:

  • Current, valid, and unrestricted Registered Nursing license in California (or state where the Workforce Development site is located).

  • Master’s degree or higher from an accredited institution with coursework in nursing, education, or administration.

  • Minimum 1 year of teaching experience in a pre- or post-licensure nursing program.

  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as an RN providing direct patient care or equivalent, as determined by the Board of Nursing.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equitable student success.

  • Proficiency in technology tools such as MS Teams, Zoom, and Learning Management Systems.

  • Experience in team leadership, budget planning, and program development is preferred.

If you are a collaborative, innovative leader who is passionate about making a difference in nursing education and community healthcare, we encourage you to apply. This is a unique opportunity to be part of something impactful, sustainable, and deeply meaningful.
