Responsibilities

As a Delivery Consultant, your role will involve estimating and designing projects throughout the sales process. You will be responsible for the project portfolio within the Upstate New York Area and will report directly to the Development Manager. Your tasks will include determining resource levels, monitoring workforce levels, managing scope creep, and ensuring that all scope changes are properly documented. You will collaborate with the Sales and Engineering team to secure customer contracts and maintain customer and subcontractor relationships.

External Relationships:

As a Delivery Consultant, you will actively engage with the local contracting community, industry organizations, and local subcontractors. Your primary goal will be to maintain high customer satisfaction and successfully deliver projects within the Upstate New York Area.

Internal Relationships:

· Collaborate with the Development Team members to establish and maintain market dominance in the local area.

· Work closely with Project Development Engineer assigned to specific opportunities within the team.

· Assist the Delivery Manager in effectively planning for future resource needs and allocating resources to meet near-term commitments.

· Assess development needs and work with the Delivery Manager to assign Construction Managers for sales support activities.

· Act as a consultant to Construction Manager during the installation phase to ensure design intent is maintained.

· Assist the Development Manager in preparing the annual financial operating plan for the projects business.

· Assist the Development Manager in meeting the Area's fiscal year plans.

· Assist the Development Manager in monthly financial reporting.

Description:

· Provide sales support activities during the audit process, including vendor/partners selection, scope enhancements, value engineering, and risk assessment.

· Perform cost estimating, project scheduling, and construction management for projects secured by the team.

· Develop billing and payment schedules and assist the Development team in negotiating favorable terms.

· Understand project scope and customer expectations, and communicate them to the Development and Delivery teams.

· Plan and schedule development activities for future delivery, considering commercial complexity, deal structure, financial acumen, and disciplines of supply chain.

· Establish and maintain long-term customer and contractor relationships, and influence customers.

· Develop the project delivery plan and project schedule.

· Coordinate with the Delivery Manager to allocate resources for project delivery.

· Develop a preliminary project schedule to determine the duration of construction resources.

· Establish customer touch points throughout the project lifecycle and gather feedback on customer satisfaction.

· Communicate project status to the Development Manager as required.

· Foster and maintain good working relationships with subcontractors and internal partners.

· Ensure compliance with legal requirements and ethical standards.

· Champion contract compliance and code compliance for subcontracted scope.

· Co-chair the PLDIMM process for all projects with the Delivery Manager.

· Participate in project post-mortems for continuous improvement and assist in setting up projects correctly in MyWork.

· Promote and adhere to JCI safety policies.

Productivity Measurements:

As a Delivery Consultant, your performance will be measured based on the Labor estimate, Subcontractor Estimates, and Risk/proficiency contributions towards the Development Manager's secured margin objective. You will also be responsible for negotiating the final Schedule of Values (SOV) that determines billing and payment terms with the customer.

The following metrics define this responsibility:

· Project Profitability (Secured Margin)

· Project cash flow based on beneficial contract terms

· 100% tool usage - Risk Log, RFP tool, Pipeline Suite

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business or equivalent work experience.
  • At least ten years of operations management experience in the Installation Industry, preferably in the energy solutions industry, with at least five years of direct management experience.
  • High-level competence in written and verbal communication.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to speak to large audiences.
  • Ability to lead and direct cross-functional and cross-business unit project teams.
  • Ability to lead, manage, mentor, and inspire others.
  • Polished presentation skills and innovative thinking.
  • Strong negotiation, persuasion, and influence skills.
  • Proficiency in software scheduling tools and applications.
  • High-level project management process competencies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, SharePoint, Adobe Writer, Visio, and cloud-based business applications.
