Director of Attorney Recruiting

Attention: This role will require employees to work at the Oakland, Los Angeles, or San Diego office locations in California on a hybrid schedule.

Job Description

  • Direct the firm's recruitment efforts for attorneys, including lateral hires and summer associate programs.
  • Create and implement strategies to enhance the firm's recruitment brand and market presence.
  • Supervise the onboarding and integration process for attorneys to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Establish and manage professional development programs to support the growth of attorneys.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership to evaluate hiring needs and long-term talent strategies.
  • Maintain relationships with law schools, legal recruiters, and professionals in the industry.
  • Ensure compliance with firm policies and legal regulations throughout the recruitment process.
  • Manage and provide reports on recruitment metrics, diversity initiatives, and retention strategies.
  • Supervise support staff involved in recruitment and provide opportunities for their professional development.

Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of experience in attorney recruitment or professional development, preferably within a law firm.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree; certification in recruitment, retention, or professional development is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to create and implement innovative recruitment strategies.
  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems, legal recruitment software, and Microsoft Office.
  • Detail-oriented with effective project management skills to handle multiple projects.
  • Can work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
