Director of Business Development – Manufacturing
Position: Director of Business Development - Manufacturing
Location: Danville, VA
A growing company in the Danville area specializing in Manufacturing Solutions is seeking a skilled Director of Business Development to propel the business to new heights.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving new business, developing strategic plans, implementing innovative marketing strategies, and ensuring customer satisfaction to support both current and future growth.
We are specifically seeking a visionary leader with a strong background in Business Development, with expertise in IT, federal contracts, and higher education administration.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and sales strategy to deliver manufacturing solutions to various industries.
- Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders in the industry, including government agencies, prime contractors, suppliers, and industry associations.
- Create and implement strategic and tactical plans to pursue new customers, projects, platforms, and programs.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, ensuring a steady pipeline of potential clients.
- Track and measure the success of the strategic plan and adjust accordingly.
- Respond to requests for proposals (RFPs) in a timely manner.
- Manage the proposal process and contract reviews.
- Maintain compliance with business and government regulations.
- Promote and advocate the company's capabilities.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
- Master's degree in engineering or MBA is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in account or program management.
- Experience in defense industry with knowledge of defense acquisition processes, government contracting, and regulatory requirements.
- Technical experience in manufacturing.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and market research tools.
- Exceptional presentation skills with a proven track record of engaging senior-level audiences.
Additional REQUIREMENTS
- Travel: 50%
- Due to contracts with the United States Government, candidates must be either US Citizens or US Permanent Residents.
