Director of Business Development – Manufacturing
Position: Director of Business Development - Manufacturing
Location: Danville, VA
Our company, located in the Danville area, is currently seeking a Director of Business Development to lead our diverse Manufacturing Solutions team and drive business growth.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, creating sales forecasts, developing strategic plans, implementing marketing initiatives, and ensuring customer satisfaction to support both short-term and long-term growth objectives.
We are looking for a visionary leader with a strong background in Business Development, particularly in IT, federal contracts, and higher education administration.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and sales strategy to offer manufacturing solutions to various industries.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the industry, including government agencies, prime contractors, suppliers, and industry associations.
- Create strategic and tactical plans for pursuing new customers, platforms, projects, and programs.
- Identify potential business opportunities and maintain a pipeline of leads.
- Track and measure the execution of strategic plans and activities.
- Respond to RFPs in a timely manner.
- Manage proposal efforts and contract reviews.
- Ensure compliance with business and government regulations.
- Promote and highlight the company's capabilities to relevant audiences.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- Master's degree in engineering or MBA preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in account or program management.
- Knowledge of defense acquisition processes, government contracting, and regulatory requirements.
- Technical expertise in the field of manufacturing.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and market research tools.
- Experience presenting to senior-level audiences.
Additional REQUIREMENTS
- Travel requirement: 50%.
- Candidates must be either US Citizens or US Permanent Residents due to contracts with the United States Government.
