Deli & Bakery Operations Manager



As the Deli & Bakery Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our Deli and Bakery departments in Tulsa, OK. Working closely with our company's leadership, you will be responsible for ensuring that our highest standards of quality and service are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate with suppliers to procure competitive prices, favorable terms, and top-notch quality products with reliable delivery.
  • Create and execute strategic marketing plans, including promotions for the local market, introducing new items, and seasonal promotions.
  • Continuously research and explore new and alternative product sources to enhance our offerings.
  • Achieve margin and sales goals by maintaining competitive pricing profiles and regularly evaluating competitors for product selection and pricing adjustments.
  • Ensure consistent replenishment, rotation, and freshness of products in the Deli and Bakery departments.
  • Collaboratively plan promotions and merchandising strategies by actively participating in marketing meetings.
  • Plan, coordinate, and communicate upcoming promotions and seasonal displays.
  • Provide comprehensive information about promoted products and effectively address customer inquiries.
  • Review staffing requirements and hire qualified applicants in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Ensure on-the-job training programs are effective and provide recommendations for pay increases within the allocated budget.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and implement disciplinary actions when necessary, adhering to company guidelines.
  • Assist in establishing sales and margin budgets for the Deli and Bakery departments.
  • Review and make necessary adjustments based on sales, labor, margin, and inventory turnover metrics.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned by the CEO and/or COO.

Requirements:

  • Preferred experience in multi-unit management.
  • Minimum of 5 years of prior experience in the retail industry.
  • Knowledge of food service items and staying informed about industry trends.
  • Ability to read and analyze financial statements.
  • Proficiency in purchasing, margin management, and pricing strategies.
  • Supervisory experience, including hiring, training, evaluating, and directing personnel.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and needs concurrently.
  • Strong commitment to following through on commitments.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including active listening and clear instruction.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
