About the Role

The Emergency Services Director is responsible for overseeing the Emergency Services Departments, managing resources, and providing leadership. The role involves planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice in alignment with the mission of Doctors Hospital and Patient Care Services. The Director exhibits technical expertise, critical thinking, initiative, integrity, accuracy, and compassion in delivering quality nursing care within an interdisciplinary practice environment. Additionally, they are responsible for coordinating Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Response activities for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct department functions, ensuring optimal operations and maintaining patient care units
  • Lead the development and evaluation of nursing personnel
  • Promote teamwork between departments and contribute to the provision of safe, high-quality nursing care
  • Act as a role model for professional nursing practice and behavior, emphasizing patient dignity and continuous improvement
  • Support quality, education, research, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Motivate the nursing team towards the common goal of delivering safe, quality patient care



  • Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Preferred: Master of Science in Nursing (to be started within 6 months and completed within 2 years)


  • Required: 5+ years of clinical experience in a hospital setting and 2-3 years in a management/leadership role


  • Required: Active California RN license, Healthcare Provider BLS (upon hire), TNCC, ACLS, and PALS (within 6 months of hire)
  • Preferred: CCRN or CEN
