Director of Employee Services (Urgent / Acute Care)

Salary: Up to $115,000 per annum
The Healthcare Employee Services Director is responsible for leading and driving strategic initiatives to cultivate a supportive and welcoming work environment, ensuring effective employee relations and talent management practices. The main objective of this role is to support the organization's recruitment, retention, and employee development goals, while overseeing a team dedicated to enhancing workplace culture and policies. Reporting to senior executives, the Director collaborates with various departments to align HR functions with organizational objectives, providing strategic HR solutions to address evolving business needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Employee Relations: Develop and propose program goals and objectives in all aspects of employee relations to promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Create, implement, and manage employee relations programs aimed at enhancing employee engagement across the organization.
  • Talent Acquisition & Management: Identify staffing and recruiting requirements; establish and implement best practices for hiring and talent management, aligning with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to understand and support the organization's strategies for staffing, recruiting, and employee retention.
  • Supervision & Staff Development: Manage and provide guidance to subordinate staff responsible for recruitment, selection, personnel policies, and employee training programs.
  • Oversee the development of educational assistance and training initiatives to improve employee productivity across various roles.
  • Employee Relations & Issue Resolution:
  • Investigate and resolve employee issues, including working conditions, disciplinary actions, appeals, and grievances, providing guidance for effective resolution.
  • Prepare and present regular and special reports to departmental leaders on employee relations matters.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Develop the operating budget for the Human Resources department, ensuring adherence to budgetary limits for all departmental functions.
  • Performance & Policy Oversight: Conduct performance reviews or oversee review processes; provide recommendations on hiring, promotions, terminations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Onboarding & Orientation: Manage the onboarding process for new employees, assessing eligibility for hire and updating orientation procedures to ensure a comprehensive introduction to organizational practices.
  • Recruitment Strategy & Collaboration: Lead recruitment activities, including advertising and outreach, in collaboration with Nursing Administration and Ancillary Department Leaders as necessary.
  • Leadership Communication & Training: Deliver high-level communication and training to directors and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration, Human Resource Management, or a closely related field.
  • Experience working in the Healthcare industry.
  • Preferred certification as a SHRM Certified Professional (PHR) or Senior Professional (SPHR).
  • Strong knowledge of laws and regulations related to Human Resources.
This position requires an experienced HR professional with expertise in fostering positive employee relations, a strategic approach to talent acquisition and retention, and a collaborative problem-solving mindset.
