We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Food Safety & Quality to oversee our company's food safety and quality management systems. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining systems that ensure the production of safe and high-quality food products for our customers.
Responsibilities and Duties
Develop and enhance food safety and quality management systems, continuously striving for improvement.
Manage a team of Quality Manager, Lab Manager, Documentation Specialist, and Quality Lead to ensure compliance with pre-requisite food safety, quality, and sanitation programs.
Lead the Food Safety Team and update Food Safety Plans as necessary.
Handle RCA/CAPA response for all customer issues.
Monitor and review the performance of the SQF system, including key performance indicators (KPIs), on a monthly basis.
Ensure adherence to GMPs, SQF standards, and customer requirements.
Provide comprehensive training on food safety, GMPs, quality assurance concepts, HACCP, policies, and procedures to all employees.
Participate in facility audits, including those conducted by SQF, GMP, customers, third parties, and regulatory bodies.
Oversee and ensure compliance with finished product specifications, providing guidance to management and operational personnel in the case of out-of-specification products.
Manage the non-conforming product program within the facility.
Provide training to new hires and ongoing training for existing employees.
Qualifications and Skills
Thorough understanding of food manufacturing processes and preventive controls.
Extensive knowledge of food safety concepts and GFSI requirements.
Proven experience in implementing HACCP, GMPs, SOPs, and other food safety and quality assurance systems.
Certified in HACCP and PCQI.
Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Food Safety & Quality Management within the food industry.
