Director of Maufacturing Engineering

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Director to oversee the manufacturing engineering and facilities at our plant site in Stuttgart, AR. In this role, you will review product design for manufacturability and work towards improving quality and ease of assembly support functions. You will lead and direct our Manufacturing Engineering team in efforts to reduce costs of assembly and plant operations. Additionally, you will ensure effective collaboration between the engineering team and other manufacturing departments. As the Manufacturing Engineering Director, you will report to the General Plant Manager.

  • Lead the technical organization to achieve progress in line with technical objectives, budgetary constraints, and schedule guidelines.
  • Review product design for manufacturability and drive improvements in quality and ease of assembly support functions.
  • Direct efforts in Manufacturing Engineering to reduce costs of assembly and plant operations.
  • Promote cohesive teamwork between the engineering team and other manufacturing departments.
  • Develop and manage the capital budget for the department.
  • Take responsibility for the preparation and management of all Engineering Departmental financial budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental ISO and SOX requirements.
  • Manage salaried and hourly personnel within the department.
  • Provide hands-on project management and coordinate multiple projects with leadership stakeholders.
  • Create project plans, timelines, critical paths, and milestones. Conduct cost-benefit evaluation for all assigned projects to determine potential financial, business, and industry impacts of initiatives.
  • Advise senior leadership on the continuous improvement strategy and the transition to implement Lean transformation.



  • Successful track record of at least 10 years in large industrial manufacturing organizations operating from a single site.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation, resourcefulness, and entrepreneurial spirit, with a willingness to learn and improve.
  • Previous experience in a strong Lean environment; Lean certification is preferred.

Top candidates will also have:

  • Extensive experience in CAD or AutoCAD, or related design experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings/plans.
  • Experience with SAP software.
  • Prior knowledge and experience with PLCs.
