Your Role:
We are seeking a full-time Pharmacy Director to lead our pharmacy team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with professionals who are passionate about delivering compassionate and high-quality patient care. Your leadership skills in decision making, problem solving, communication, and interpersonal relations will be crucial as you work with department directors, physicians, staff, visitors, and vendors. You will set the climate for cooperation and ensure the smooth operation of the pharmacy. Your judgment and actions will have a direct impact on patient outcomes.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing departmental goals, plans, and standards in compliance with organizational requirements
- Directing and evaluating departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management
- Planning and monitoring staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, and disciplinary actions
- Managing departmental budgets and coordinating internal/external audits
- Creating an environment that promotes professional growth
- Integrating evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols
- Acting as the "Managing Pharmacist" responsible for compliance with laws and regulations
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Pharmacy required. Doctorate in Pharmacy preferred.
- Experience: At least three years of previous pharmacy leadership experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
- Licenses/Certifications: Current Nevada Pharmacist License and Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) designation within three months of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association within six months of hire. Certificates of Completion for FEMA IS-100.C and FEMA IS-200.C required within three months upon hire (effective 7.1.2023), and every three years thereafter. Handle with Care training completion within 30 days of hire.
- Physical Demands: Occasional prolonged standing/walking; occasional heavy lifting of supplies/equipment, 20-30 pounds.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must thrive in a stressful environment and take appropriate action when needed.
