Pharmacy Director

Location: Kingman, KS
Schedule: Full-Time
Compensation: $127,000 – $200,000 (based on experience)
Benefits: Full benefits package + potential relocation/sign-on bonus

Position Overview

Are you ready to lead pharmacy operations at a respected critical access hospital that values compassionate care and clinical excellence? Located just outside Wichita, Kansas, our facility serves multiple counties and offers the perfect balance of small-town living and outdoor recreation, with easy access to the conveniences of a larger city.

We are currently seeking a hands-on Director of Pharmacy to oversee all aspects of our hospital pharmacy operations and lead a team of dedicated professionals. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned pharmacist with leadership experience to grow in a mission-driven, collaborative healthcare environment.

What We’re Looking For:

• Registered Pharmacist licensed in Kansas

• Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required

• Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy leadership or management experience

• Strong interpersonal skills with a professional, collaborative, and detail-oriented approach

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct all pharmacy operations in compliance with hospital policies, state and federal laws, and ethical standards

• Lead strategic planning, staffing, scheduling, and workflow optimization for a team of 6 full-time and 1 part-time staff members

• Review prescribing trends and usage data; report findings quarterly to the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee

• Prepare departmental budgets and required reports for hospital leadership

• Maintain 340B program compliance and assist in program oversight

• Oversee medication procurement, inventory management, and drug recalls

• Conduct clinical rounds, check Pyxis units, reconcile narcotic documentation, and review medication administration records

• Utilize CPOE for order entry and manage Pyxis CII Safe for controlled substances

• Collaborate with medical staff to provide drug information, monitor therapies, prevent interactions, and educate patients and team members

• Coordinate responses to code blue situations and ensure accurate medication reconciliation

• Develop, review, and revise pharmacy policies and procedures

• Ensure full compliance with Kansas Board of Pharmacy, DEA, and Medicare standards
