Position Summary:
The Program Finance Director will be responsible for overseeing the financial guidance, strategy, forecasting, and business management of our Broadband Communications Systems Sector. The successful candidate should possess a strong understanding of fundamental financial concepts, such as management and financial accounting, cash management, team development, and budgeting. This position will entail leading the finance team and serving as a strategic advisor to the management team, identifying opportunities for profit generation and improvements in working capital.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure effective and timely communication of all Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) deliverables to the CS segment, including MFR, AOP, and SP requirements. Maintain regular contact with CS FP&A leadership to provide updates on financial commitments related to BCS.
- Collaborate with Program counterparts to evaluate program EAC and assess risks and opportunities.
- Work with Operations and Program leaders to drive working capital initiatives throughout the organization and achieve AOP and SP objectives.
- Lead and support finance transformation initiatives, identifying opportunities for process and system enhancements.
- Review and approve proposals and quotes across various business areas.
- Identify and prepare opportunities for Independent Financial Review (IFR).
- Review month-end closing processes to identify potential accounting issues, working closely with the controllers organization to ensure the accuracy of monthly financial statements.
- Oversee the recruitment, selection, orientation, planning, and training of finance staff. Provide supervision, guidance, monitoring, and performance evaluations.
- Evaluate proposal cost and pricing data to ensure accuracy, adequacy, reasonableness, consistency with tactical and strategic initiatives, and compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with at least 15 years of relevant experience. Master's Degree with at least 13 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a minimum of 19 years of relevant experience in the absence of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Indirect Cost and Rate Management experience of 3+ years.
- Management experience of 5+ years, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility.
- Master's Degree.
- Strong financial and business acumen skills.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral), strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across a diverse portfolio of programs.
- Expertise in accounting compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations.
- Experience managing different contract types, including Fixed Price, Fixed Unit Rate, Cost Plus, and Time & Material.
- Background and knowledge in Government Finance within the Defense & Aerospace industry, with a solid understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and related regulations.
- Focus on staff development and building a collaborative team with strong bench strength.
- Demonstrated ability to work with non-finance business leaders at all levels of the organization, utilizing complex financial constructs for business advancement.
- Expertise in Government Finance within the Defense & Aerospace industry, with a strong command of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and related regulations.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting practices, including GAAP and SEC regulations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, customer-focused, comfortable interacting with senior management.
- Keen attention to detail and a high degree of responsiveness.
