- The successful candidate for the Rehabilitation Services Director position will be responsible for supervising the rehabilitation department staff to ensure the provision, documentation, and billing of therapy services in compliance with Federal and State Laws, Regulations, and Practice Acts. They will also assist in hiring, orienting, and training therapists, assistants, and rehabilitation aides. In addition, they will represent the team in various meetings, in-services, programs, and orientations. The Director will also maintain a caseload of patients with at least 35% productivity and address any performance issues.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of residents' rehabilitation potential and provide recommendations for inter-disciplinary care planning and treatment.
- Communicate with residents or their representatives about the care and treatment plan and discuss potential outcomes.
- Create and implement treatment plans in line with physicians' orders and rehabilitation goals, and maintain communication with physicians as necessary.
- Oversee the preparation of written evaluations, progress notes, care plans, and discharge summaries for patients receiving physical therapy, following state, federal, and facility policies.
- Regularly review residents' progress and adjust rehabilitation aspects of the care plan as needed.
- Collaborate with inter-disciplinary healthcare team members to integrate rehabilitation goals into the comprehensive care plan.
- Display interest in working with the elderly and demonstrate respect for residents' rights during care and treatment.
- Hold a professional license as an Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapist, received through an accredited curriculum with a baccalaureate degree.
- Must have a valid state license to practice.
- Possess the ability to teach, inspire, and motivate others, as well as demonstrate leadership qualities. Additionally, the candidate should be well-organized, capable of delegating assignments, and promoting teamwork.
