We are hiring a dynamic leader for a prominent non-profit organization in Iowa. The Director of Scholarship Impact will report to the Vice President of Community Impact.

Key Responsibilities:

In this important role, you will oversee all aspects of our scholarship programs at the Foundation. This includes managing the selection and recommendation processes, awarding scholarships, monitoring their progress, and providing annual reports across a 20-county region. It's crucial for the person in this role to demonstrate a personal and professional commitment to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Additionally, you must be able to work collaboratively with a team to achieve our organizational goals.

Specifically, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing leadership and coordination for the scholarship activities within the Impact Team. Engaging colleagues in the scholarship process.
  • Working with the Vice President of Community Impact and other members of the Impact Team to develop strategies for increasing the impact of our scholarships. Measuring progress and identifying any gaps to adjust our strategies and systems.
  • Collaborating with other members of the Impact Team and our communications staff to share impactful stories of our community's progress. This includes creating donor-specific reports, managing events, and organizing opportunities for donor and scholarship recipient engagement.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of the Impact Team's annual budget.
  • Ensuring that the scholarship selection committees align with the values of our organization.
  • Prioritizing relationship-building with prospective and current scholarship committees. Strengthening engagement in community leadership, development, and scholarships.
  • Guiding the scholarship management process and procedures. Advocating for students seeking assistance in pursuing higher education and championing trust-based philanthropy practices and principles.
  • Establishing relationships with the designees for designated scholarships. Ensuring that the scholarships align with our foundation's policies.
Skills/Qualifications that you must have:
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to efficiently handle large amounts of report data.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and concisely summarize applicant highlights for decision-making.
Skills/Qualifications that are nice to have, but not required:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in grantmaking.
  • Familiarity with the Cedar Valley, IA community.
