Division Process Safety Specialist

Location: Northbrook, IL

A minimum of (3) years' experience in process safety within operations is required, along with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Safety, or a related technical field.

Travel up to 30% will be required for facility PHA's, Process Safety audits, and company meetings. The schedule allows for up to (2) days working from home.

This position will support the distribution sector of the chemical business, overseeing multiple sites across the United States and Canada with a workforce of over 220 employees. The EHS Department includes the EHS Manager, Safety Superintendent, Environmental Superintendent, this role (PSM), Emergency Services/Security Coordinator, and Administrative Assistant.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and coordinating the continuous improvement of the Process Safety program to achieve excellence in EHS. They will act as the liaison between the distribution facilities (DF) and the corporate EHS audit team during PSM/RMP audits. Furthermore, they will develop, enhance, and manage electronic storage and workflow processes for all Process Safety-related documents, including process safety information, process hazard analyses, operating procedures, MOC, pre-startup safety review, mechanical integrity, and facility siting. The candidate will also coordinate and participate in PHA's, represent the DF on the Corporate Process Safety Council, and conduct root-cause investigations for Process Safety-related incidents.
