Job Overview:

Working under the guidance of the Department Director and the supervision of the Cardiac Cath Lab Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting clinical diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures in accordance with departmental standards
  • Serving as a patient advocate to ensure exceptional customer service for patients, their families, the public, and the medical staff
  • Participating in quality control and organizational improvement initiatives
  • Being a clinical and technical resource for less experienced sonographers

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of a cardiac echocardiography program approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association, or equivalent training through self-study, on-the-job training, etc.
  • National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography upon hiring or
  • National Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International upon hiring
  • National Provider BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association upon hiring

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of national certification examinations in cardiac echocardiography, color doppler, and stress testing administered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers upon hiring
  • Prior experience as a Sonographer in a hospital setting
