Major Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of the Company's EHS policies and procedures by effectively managing personnel and maintaining accurate data/documents in the EHS management systems. This includes overseeing programs such as:
    1. Title V Air Permit
    2. National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Standards
    3. EPA Storm Water Management
    4. Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures Plan
    5. Facility Response Plan / Integrated Contingency Plan
    6. Applicable OSHA and consensus standards (NFPA 70E, General Industry, Construction, and Recordkeeping)
    7. OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program (VPP)
    8. EPA Hazardous Waste Regulations
    9. EPA Risk Management Program
    10. Part 75 and Part 60 CEMS
  • Prepare, review, and submit all required regulatory reports for the site, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the site and regulatory agencies, fostering a collaborative and positive relationship.
  • Manage and maintain the site's Continuous Emissions Monitor and Data Acquisition and Handling Systems, working closely with the OEM to ensure accurate data reporting.
  • Assist in establishing site goals and objectives, implementing policies and procedures to ensure consistent adherence to the Company's EHS compliance mission.
  • Support the plant's OSHA VPP Star program by promoting continuous improvement in safety and health programs, systems, and culture.
  • Provide hands-on assistance to operating personnel, ensuring EHS compliance and identifying opportunities for process improvements that reduce compliance risks and operating expenses.
  • Participate in incident and near-miss event investigations, contributing to the development and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Take part in site regulatory and internal audits as required.
  • Stay updated on new and changing EHS regulatory requirements applicable to the site.
  • Provide support during off-hours, nights, and weekends for activities such as outages or emergency response.

Education/Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, engineering, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with Clean Air Act programs, as well as general regulatory knowledge in other areas (e.g., CWA, EPCRA, CERCLA, RCRA, RMP).
  • Familiarity with Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems and related quality assurance activities is highly advantageous.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and issues simultaneously and perform well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including a results-driven approach and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Proven track record of building consensus and being an effective team player with internal and external stakeholders.
