EHS & ISO Manager ^

Location: North Las Vegas, NV
Our company specializes in producing printed industry products such as cartons, booklets, and inserts for well-known brands. We are currently seeking an EH&S Manager to support our large 2-shift plant and oversee our 300+ employees. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving health, safety, and environmental operations within the company.
Familiarity with the implementation and external accreditation audit processes of HSE management systems, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 50001, is required.
The primary objective of this role is to assist the Divisional HSE Manager in guiding the company through the certification process for ISO 9001 and conducting internal HSE audits. You will also provide knowledgeable advice and guidance on HSE matters to site management. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in obtaining and maintaining certification, making experience with the certification process highly valuable!
  • Travel between two local plants when necessary
  • Offer competent HSE advice and guidance to site management, including active participation in regular site HSE reviews and daily site management meetings
  • Promote and develop a positive HSE culture within the assigned sites
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and HSE legislation at the assigned site(s)
  • Manage a program of internal HSE inspections and audits
  • Maintain HSE compliance calendars and regional HSE compliance
  • Participate in the investigation of employee concerns, HSE incidents, and employee observations/near misses, including developing and implementing corrective actions and providing detailed feedback and advice
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, along with relevant professional qualifications and accreditations (e.g. GradIOSH, AIEMA, Member of ASSE)
  • A proven track record and ability to engage employees
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a health, safety, and environment role in a manufacturing/chemical industry
  • Knowledge of HSE legislation and environmental initiatives (e.g. CRC, CDP, ESOS)
  • Experience in accident investigations and machinery safety assessments
  • Experience in developing and conducting internal ISO inspections and audits
  • Experience in developing and implementing ISO9001 and improvement programs at the site level
