Requirements:
A Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field is required, along with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in industrial safety and environmental compliance. Candidates must also have prior experience in directly managing EHS professionals.
The ideal candidate will bring a progressive approach to industrial safety and environmental practices within heavy manufacturing environments. This role is responsible for driving the strategic direction of the EHS program at a large metals manufacturing facility and will oversee the EHS department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the EHS program in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to the EHS team.
- Apply a metrics-driven approach using key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Bring a strong background in manufacturing sectors such as aerospace, foundries, automotive, smelting, or similar.
Required Expertise:
- Strong technical knowledge in EHS management systems.
- Experience with workers' compensation programs.
- General environmental compliance and operational safety expertise.
- Proven ability to implement and manage performance-based safety and environmental systems.
