Power Plant EHS Manager
Position Summary
The Power Plant EHS Manager is responsible for executing the company’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures at the site level. This position ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and maintains accurate records and data within the EHS management systems. The role involves direct engagement with plant personnel, external agencies, and corporate EHS leadership to support safe, compliant, and efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities

Implement and manage site-specific EHS programs, including but not limited to:
-
Title V Air Permit
-
National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)
-
EPA Storm Water Management
-
Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plan
-
Facility Response Plan / Integrated Contingency Plan
-
OSHA and consensus standards (e.g., NFPA 70E, 29 CFR 1910, 1926, 1904)
-
OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP)
-
EPA Hazardous Waste Regulations
-
EPA Risk Management Program (RMP)
-
CEMS (Part 75 and Part 60)
-

Prepare, review, and submit required regulatory reports with appropriate oversight.

Serve as the site’s liaison with regulatory agencies, ensuring effective and collaborative relationships.

Lead the site’s Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and Data Acquisition and Handling Systems (DAHS), including:
-
Managing OEM interface
-
Ensuring data accuracy and correction
-
Generating and submitting regulatory reports on time
-

Assist in establishing and implementing site-wide EHS goals, objectives, and policies aligned with company compliance standards.

Oversee NERC/CIP compliance responsibilities as required.

Provide hands-on support to operational personnel to ensure safe practices and reduce compliance risk while optimizing costs.

Participate in incident and near-miss investigations using root cause analysis techniques and contribute to corrective action planning and implementation.

Support regulatory and internal audits, providing necessary documentation and assistance.

Stay current with evolving regulatory requirements impacting EHS compliance.
-
Provide EHS support during plant outages, emergency responses, and off-hours events as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Specialized knowledge of Clean Air Act compliance programs, with working knowledge of other regulations including CWA, EPCRA, CERCLA, RCRA, and RMP.

Experience with Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and associated QA/QC activities is highly beneficial.

Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills; able to effectively engage with team members at all organizational levels.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and perform in fast-paced, evolving environments.

Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a focus on strategic planning and results-driven outcomes.

Team-oriented with a strong record of building consensus and fostering internal and external collaboration.
