EHS Manager (Power Plant)
Position: Power Plant Environmental Health and Safety Manager
Location: Lakewood, NJ
Responsibilities:
- Implement and enforce the company's Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and maintaining accurate data/documents in the EHS management systems.
- Oversee various programs including Title V Air Permit, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Standards, EPA Storm Water Management, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures Plan, Facility Response Plan / Integrated Contingency Plan, and applicable OSHA and consensus standards.
- Manage OSHA's Voluntary Protection Program (VPP), EPA Hazardous Waste Regulations, EPA Risk Management Program, and Part 75 and Part 60 CEMS.
- Produce, review, and submit required regulatory reports and maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies.
- Lead the management of Continuous Emissions Monitor and Data Acquisition and Handling Systems, ensuring accuracy of data, generating required reports, and coordinating with OEM for necessary corrections.
- Assist in setting site goals and objectives and implement policies, programs, and procedures for EHS compliance.
- Provide onsite support to ensure EHS compliance, identify improvement opportunities, and minimize operating expenses.
- Participate in incident and near miss event investigations, contribute to corrective action development, and participate in regulatory and internal audits as necessary.
- Stay updated on new and changing regulatory requirements related to EHS compliance.
- Provide support during off hours, nights, weekends, outages, or emergency responses as needed.
Education/Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, engineering, or related field.
- Specialized regulatory knowledge and experience with Clean Air Act programs and general regulatory knowledge in other disciplines.
- Experience with Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems and related quality assurance activities is highly beneficial.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and issues simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Developed leadership skills with a focus on results and strategic planning.
- Effective team player with a track record of building consensus.
