Electrical Engineer II

We are currently hiring an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join our team in Charleston, TN.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for various electrical and automation engineering tasks to improve the performance of our chemical production units and auxiliary systems in the fumed silica department (HDK). Your main objectives will be to ensure safe operations, regulatory compliance, and maximize the availability and efficiency of these units.
- Collaborate closely with fellow Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls (EI&C) Engineering colleagues to maintain safe operating conditions and regulatory compliance of production units
- Optimize the availability and quality of production units
- Maintain and support instrumentation and automation systems for the production units
- Provide consultation and support for capital projects executed by the project engineering team
- Assist in process and technology transfer between production sites
- Support capital investment and expense projects within your area of responsibility
- Coordinate troubleshooting and debottlenecking activities
- Become an expert in Electrical & Instrumentation engineering for your process areas and assigned subject matters
- Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and cost
- Develop and contribute to specifications, standards, and codes
- Create and maintain preventative maintenance plans, such as ITPMs
- Collaborate with various teams and individuals within Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and other service units to achieve optimal results and solutions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Computer Science Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical engineering
- Thorough technical knowledge in electrical or instrumentation engineering, including relevant regulations, standards, and codes
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and construction practices
- Objective decision-making approach based on facts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams
- Strong multitasking skills
- Ability to perform well under schedule and cost pressure
- Team player attitude
- Capability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements in a professional manner
- Preferred, but not required: knowledge of Siemens Drives/PLC, Delta V, and E&H Instrumentation and automation
- Must be physically fit to wear an air purifying respirator if necessary
