Electrical Engineer II

We are currently hiring a Junior Electrical Engineer for our Silicones department in Charleston, TN.


In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of multiple chemical production units and related automated systems in our fumed silica department. Working closely with the Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EI&C) Engineering team, you will ensure safe operations, regulatory compliance, and maximize the availability and efficiency of these units.

  • Collaborate with the Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EI&C) Engineering team to ensure safe operations and regulatory compliance
  • Maximize the availability and quality of production units
  • Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation and automation systems
  • Provide support for capital projects and process technology transfer
  • Conduct debottlenecking and troubleshooting activities
  • Become an expert in Electrical & Instrumentation engineering for designated process areas
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and cost
  • Develop specifications, standards, and codes
  • Create and maintain preventative maintenance plans
  • Collaborate with various teams and individuals to achieve optimal results and solutions


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Computer Science Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical engineering
  • Thorough technical knowledge in electrical or instrumentation engineering and relevant regulations
  • Understanding of engineering principles and construction practices
  • Objective decision-making and judgement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams
  • Strong multitasking abilities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player mindset
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements
  • Preferred, but not required: knowledge of Siemens Drives/PLC, Delta V and E&H Instrumentation and automation
  • Must be physically fit to wear an air purifying respirator if necessary
