Electrical Reliability Supervisor

The position of Electrical Maintenance Supervisor in Lemont, IL involves leading the review and improvement recommendations for electrical systems in the refinery. As the supervisor, you will oversee the Reliability Electrical Engineer and collaborate with the Maintenance Electrical Manager and Project Engineering Instrument and Electrical Engineering Manager to develop programs, prioritize work, create and execute the Electrical Reliability Budget, provide input for the Capital MTP and Budget for electrical projects, and contribute to the Maintenance Budget for electrical expense projects and needs.

You will provide guidance and technical support for electrical distribution systems throughout the refinery, with a focus on reliability engineering to enhance availability, reduce maintenance costs, increase MTBF, and improve equipment on-line performance. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and leading reliability analysis and programs.

  1. Lead a team of electrical reliability engineers to improve electrical reliability performance.
    1. Plan and direct work, provide training, facilitate interaction with other work groups, establish goals and objectives, and set performance criteria.
    2. Coordinate engineering work assignments and workload.
    3. Select and coordinate reliability projects and programs, including managing contractors.
    4. Collaborate with the Maintenance Electrical Department and Operations to plan and execute reliability objectives for the refinery.
    5. Interface with the Project Engineering Electrical and Instrument Department for additional support and resources, provide technical input for projects, and generate reliability-based projects through Engineering Work Requests.
    6. Review and select candidates for vacancies, conduct performance reviews, and recommend performance ratings.
  2. Provide expertise in electrical technology to the refinery. Develop solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and creativity. Lead and/or participate in multi-discipline teams to develop reliability solutions.
  3. Collaborate with the Manager of Reliability and the Maintenance Electrical Department Manager to set electrical reliability goals for the year, including program and project prioritization.
  4. Contribute to the Reliability Department budget and manage the budget for the assigned area, including all aspects related to the electrical department.
  5. Ensure that Electrical Group expectations are met.
    1. Lead and facilitate root cause failure analysis.
    2. Perform life cycle cost analysis on design modifications and metallurgy upgrade options to provide recommendations to management.
    3. Provide technical input to strategies for maintenance, repair, and replacement specifications.
    4. Identify and implement improvement ideas to enhance operational performance, increase availability, and reduce costs.
    5. Contribute technical input to capital project design basis and provide support to develop project options.
    6. Support Operations by responding to reliability needs and emergency situations.
    7. Support plan turnaround efforts with technical and leadership support.
  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  2. Minimum of eight (8) years of electrical engineering experience in a processing facility, preferably in the Refinery, Petrochemical, or chemical industry.
