Electrical Supervisor
Location: Ruston, LA
As an Electrical Foreman based in Ruston, LA, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising a team of millwrights, electricians, and mechanics. Your main focus will be on ensuring safety, quality, and reliability in maintenance practices. Additionally, you will lead team meetings and trainings, identify and address safety, environmental, quality, and production issues, and collaborate with production teams to maximize productivity while minimizing costs. Proactively resolving employee issues, fostering teamwork, and ensuring adherence to site policies and procedures will also be part of your responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and implement effective maintenance plans, and provide leadership to the maintenance team
- Prioritize safety by identifying and addressing potential hazards
- Supervise and develop the maintenance team, promoting effective communication within and between shifts, as well as with production teams
- Utilize preventive maintenance systems to minimize unscheduled downtime
- Implement reliable troubleshooting methods to achieve uptime, production volume, and quality goals
- Maximize team technical skills through efficient utilization of training resources
- Lead team meetings and training sessions
- Identify and resolve safety, reliability, environmental, quality, and production issues
- Collaborate with the production team to optimize productivity and cost-effectiveness
- Take proactive measures to reduce waste and address concerns
- Resolve employee issues, build teamwork, and ensure compliance with site policies and procedures
Qualifications
- High School diploma required. Technical background preferred, such as an Associates or Bachelors degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in an industrial environment
- Proficiency in PLC's and other electrical manufacturing plant control systems
- Ability to effectively identify and address the root cause of problems and implement immediate corrective actions
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated ability to enhance performance through coaching and development
- Strong organizational and planning abilities
- High work ethic, sound judgment, and decision-making skills
- Proven leadership skills and positive influence in achieving safety, environmental, quality, productivity, and people development goals
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and other Windows-based programs, as well as internet skills
- Track record of achieving and sustaining business goals
- Familiarity with Maintenance Planning software such as Maximo or SAP
