Firmware Engineer - Oklahoma City, OK

Our client is in search of an adept embedded software engineer to join their software development team in the United States. This role requires independent work with oversight from the software lead to support the development of various vital software systems. The ideal candidate thrives in a challenging, fast-paced, and diverse environment and possesses a strong passion for innovation and process optimization.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Independently assists in the development and deployment of embedded aircraft and ground software systems
  • Collaborates with team members to define software requirements and develop a robust software design, including safety-critical and mission-critical functionality
  • Works with multidisciplinary teams to design efficient, testable, and verifiable software solutions
  • Implements software designs by translating requirements and designs into code
  • Develops safety and mission critical software systems using SCADE and other model-based tools
  • Applies DO-178C principles to develop reliable and secure software, while utilizing Agile methodologies whenever feasible
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with a positive and creative mindset

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen and eligible to obtain a US Secret Clearance
  • Professional experience in aerospace or high-assurance software development, specifically for safety and/or mission critical systems, and familiarity with associated technologies such as Real-Time Operating Systems
  • Proficient in all stages of software development: requirements, design, coding, and testing
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team

Typical Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors or Masters in software engineering or a related field from an accredited institution
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ALM and requirements management tools (Polarion, IBM DOORS, etc)
  • Familiarity with Agile tools (Confluence, Jira, etc)
  • Knowledge of Model-Based Development, including SysML (Cameo, SCADE Architect, etc)
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages, with a preference for C and Python
  • Familiarity with the SCADE Tool Suite (SCADE Suite, SCADE Display)
  • Experience with CI/CD and version control systems (Git, Gitlab, LDRA)
  • Experience in developing software for certification in the aerospace or automotive industries, adhering to standards such as DO-178B/C, MIL-HDBK-516C, and ISO 26262
