MID-LEVEL ASSOCIATE (ATTORNEY) – EMPLOYEE BENEFITS AND EXECUTIVE COMPENSATION

A highly esteemed national law firm, ranked in the prestigious AmLaw 100, is currently looking for a mid-level Associate to join their well-regarded Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice Group in either Chicago, Kansas City, Denver, or Dallas.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- A Juris Doctor degree (JD) from a renowned law school, demonstrating high academic achievement.
- Must be admitted to the Bar in Illinois, Missouri, Colorado, or Texas, as required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience handling employee benefits and executive compensation issues.
- Deep expertise in designing, drafting, implementing, and managing both tax-qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, as well as health and welfare benefit plans.
- Proven experience dealing with executive compensation and benefits related to mergers and acquisitions, and proficiency in understanding taxation matters related to executive compensation arrangements (including Sections 409A and 280G of the Internal Revenue Code).
- Strong skills in creating and drafting employment and other executive compensation arrangements.
- Exceptional writing, drafting, and communication abilities, coupled with a high level of ambition, drive, and teamwork.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Create and draft tax-qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, health and welfare benefit plans, and executive compensation arrangements.
- Handle executive compensation and benefits issues in relation to mergers and acquisitions.
- Address all taxation matters connected to executive compensation arrangements, including Sections 409A and 280G.
- Collaborate with a team to support and expand a nationwide practice.
