About the Position

As the Employee Relations Specialist, you will:

  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers located across various branches in Louisiana.
  • Handle complex HR matters, including investigations, terminations, and employee disciplinary actions, while building trust and offering hands-on assistance.
  • Implement engagement initiatives to enhance workplace culture and promote collaboration.
  • Act as a relationship builder and resource for managers who possess specialized expertise but require guidance on HR processes such as documentation and follow-through.
  • Maintain and advance the organization’s commitment to core values and continuous improvement.

This position requires a proactive and adaptable individual who is comfortable working onsite, occasionally traveling, and adept at managing change in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field. Extensive experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • 5+ years of proven expertise in employee relations, ideally in a previous role as an Employee Relations Manager or Specialist, HR Business Partner, or Senior HR Generalist with significant employee relations responsibilities. This experience should include conducting investigations, executing terminations, coaching managers, and implementing engagement initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal employment and labor laws. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related managerial role is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with employees and managers at all levels.
  • Committed to follow-up and follow-through, with exceptional organizational abilities.
  • Adaptable and collaborative mindset, ready to handle change and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Passionate about fostering a culture of care, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • HRCI (PHR or SPHR) or SHRM (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) Certification is highly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
