Labor and Employment Partner (Practice Group Lead)

Our client, a highly regarded and well-established Pittsburgh-based law firm, is seeking a seasoned Labor and Employment Partner to lead its growing Labor and Employment Practice Group. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced attorney to step into a pivotal leadership role within a collaborative and future-focused firm.

As Practice Group Lead, you will oversee a skilled team while advising a diverse range of clients on complex labor and employment matters—from high-stakes litigation to proactive compliance and workplace strategy. The ideal candidate combines deep legal expertise with a strong business acumen and a passion for mentorship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic counsel on employment issues such as wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, wage and hour compliance, and benefits.

• Represent clients in state and federal courts, administrative proceedings, and alternative dispute resolution forums.

• Conduct internal investigations, lead workplace audits, and advise on risk management initiatives.

• Draft and negotiate employment agreements, severance packages, and collective bargaining agreements.

• Manage traditional labor law matters, including union negotiations, grievance arbitrations, and unfair labor practice charges.

• Mentor junior attorneys and foster a supportive, team-oriented environment.

• Collaborate with firm leadership on business development and practice growth strategies.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Pennsylvania.

• At least 10 years of labor and employment law experience, including both litigation and traditional labor law.

• Demonstrated experience advising clients before local, state, and federal agencies.

• Proven leadership in managing teams and building client relationships.

• Experience advising on labor and employment matters in transactional contexts is a plus.
