Engineering Manager – R&D Product Development

ENGINEERING MANAGER - RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

As the Engineering Manager in charge of Research and Development, you will oversee a team of Product Engineers, including interns and co-ops. Your main responsibilities will include leading the execution and delivery of R&D Projects, managing New Product Development Initiatives, overseeing Product Changes, and conducting Product Testing. In addition, you will be responsible for process management, proactively resolving engineering issues, and reviewing engineering outputs such as designs, specifications, and DHF documentation. One of your key roles will be to contribute to securing new patents and ensuring freedom to operate for new initiatives. You will be dedicated to enhancing product design, streamlining time-to-market, and minimizing product failure risks.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering or a related STEM field is required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience managing R&D/engineering team activities.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving tools such as 5-Why and Fish Bone.
  • Strong background in Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing.
  • Experience with cGMP and ISO 14971 methods is highly desirable.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations. Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to effectively communicate with managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Proficiency in mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and plane and solid geometry. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
  • Experience with project management software, Microsoft Office, Autodesk Inventor, and 3D Printing is required.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills are essential.
  • Extensive knowledge and practical application of statistical process controls.
  • Meticulous attention to detail is required.
  • Ability to collaboratively work with leaders across departments and effectively manage teams.
  • 10% travel may be necessary.
