This presents a distinct opportunity to engage with a vibrant and expanding practice that offers sophisticated legal guidance to both for-profit and nonprofit developers on intricate affordable housing transactions.

Candidate Profile:

  • Hold a JD from a highly-regarded law school with a commendable academic record.

  • Have an Undergraduate degree in Accounting.
  • Hold Active Bar Admission in any US state, maintaining good standing.

  • Exhibit experience or coursework in partnership tax and federal income tax credits.

  • Preference will be given to those with an LL.M. in Taxation.

  • Possess strong analytical, research, and writing skills, paying meticulous attention to detail.

  • Be capable of collaborating effectively in a fast-paced, client-centric environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer guidance on tax structuring, compliance, and financing strategies to affordable housing developers, investors, and syndicators.
  • Provide advice on federal, state, and local tax credits, encompassing Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and Historic Tax Credits.
  • Aid in the structuring of complex real estate transactions, including acquisitions, financing, and dispositions.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, tax opinions, and transaction documents.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to navigate IRS regulations, tax credit allocations, and compliance matters.
