Environmental Manager

Location: Perry, GA

Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Biological Science is highly preferred, although equivalent work experience will be considered. In addition, the following requirements must be met:

· Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to the environment

· Established relationships with relevant agency representatives

· Exceptional organizational skills for effective record keeping and documentation

· Dedicated to finding innovative methods to decrease carbon footprint

· Adept at budgeting to manage costs and assets confidently

· Willingness to travel to remote offices and facilities for meetings

As the Sustainability Manager, your main responsibility is to ensure compliance with all current and future federal, state, and local environmental regulations. This includes the application for and renewal of relevant permits. Areas of environmental focus include air quality, stormwater management, wastewater treatment, recycling initiatives, hazardous waste disposal, solid waste management, bio-solid land application, and chemical compliance. Additionally, this role involves:

· Overseeing and ensuring compliance with various environmental programs within the designated plant operations, such as wastewater management, air quality control, bio-solids program, hazardous waste management, recycling, solid waste management, and potable water and oil handling programs

· Possibly managing and supervising a team of associates, including hiring, training, and developing them to ensure adherence to environmental regulations and reduction of carbon footprint

· Producing timely, accurate, and consistent reports on various aspects, including safety measures, production numbers, human resources, administrative tasks, and regulatory compliance

· Controlling costs and managing assets to align with set goals and objectives

· Reporting to the Complex Director of Operations while also having a dotted-line reporting relationship with the Corporate Director, Environment Services

· Promptly notifying relevant parties of any activities, spillages, or instances of non-compliance

· Developing and implementing sustainable waste recycling programs within the organization

· Establishing and executing strategies to reduce the facility's consumption of natural gas, diesel fuel, electricity, compressed air, steam, and water

· Possibly conducting two environmental audits of other facilities per year
