Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Electrical Engineer who possesses a Professional Engineer (PE) license to oversee the development and implementation of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in designing and deploying EV charging stations, as well as a deep understanding of relevant safety standards and codes. This position entails project management, team supervision, and providing technical guidance. Familiarity with site lighting or broader Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) work would be advantageous.


Primary Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Lead and manage EV charging projects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Technical Design Guidance:

  • Provide expert guidance on the design of EV charging systems, including site evaluation, electrical distribution plans, equipment selection, and integration with existing infrastructure.

Team Supervision:

  • Supervise and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Collaboration with Stakeholders:

  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, utility providers, and other key stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.

Compliance with Regulations:

  • Ensure that all designs and installations conform to national, regional, and local electrical standards, including the NEC.

Continuous Learning & Improvement:

  • Stay up to date with advancements in EV charging technologies and industry best practices, integrating cutting-edge solutions into designs.

Business Support:

  • Assist in identifying new business opportunities, contribute to proposal development, and nurture client relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Certification: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design and project management, with a focus on EV charging systems.
    • Strong background in team leadership and successful project delivery.
    • Knowledge of site lighting or MEP work is a plus.

Technical Expertise:

  • Excellent knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including NEC regulations.
  • Proficiency in electrical design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Expertise in power distribution, grounding, and related systems.
  • Familiarity with EV charging systems, such as SAE J1772 and CHAdeMO standards.

Salary Range: $130,000+
