Field Engineer – Heavy Highway
We are seeking a Construction Coordinator - Heavy Highway to join our project operations team in Wesley Chapel, FL. As a member of the team, your primary responsibility will be to support project staff, Superintendents, and Foreman in planning, coordinating, and documenting assigned craft-work to ensure efficiency and adherence to project requirements. Your role will involve collaborating with craft supervision, owners, vendors, subcontractors, and other members of the project team.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the Estimate Turnover Meeting and conduct quantity takeoff measurements.
- Assist in converting estimates to control budgets and setting up job files.
- Coordinate and review submittals.
- Aid engineering staff in procuring suppliers and subcontractors.
- Attend and actively participate in daily and weekly safety meetings.
- Manage quantities and perform necessary takeoffs.
- Procure and schedule subcontractors and materials.
- Oversee subcontractors and suppliers with the support of staff, superintendents, and foremen.
- Collaborate on work plan development with project engineer, superintendents, and foremen, and monitor work plans.
- Accurately manage quantity and cost reporting, and provide reports to superintendents and foremen.
- Assist in pricing change orders if necessary.
- Participate in the project's document control process.
- Maintain accurate record sets of project drawings and specifications.
- Contribute to the project closeout process, including final quantity and cost reportings, as-built drawings, and turnover of required documents to the owner.
- Perform miscellaneous/other duties as required.
Required Skills & Experience
- Possess 2-3 years of recent heavy highway, road, and bridge construction experience (preferably with prior internship experience in heavy civil contracting).
- Have experience working on medium to large projects (minimum $10M+).
- Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
