On-Site Technical Support Specialist

Location: Columbia, SC

Service and maintain medical laboratory equipment, including hematology, chemistry, coagulation analyzers, for a leading manufacturer. Preference will be given to candidates with current or recent field service experience in the medical device industry. This role involves servicing automated robotic lab instrumentation in the Columbia, South Carolina area.

The position requires a solid background in electronics and electro-mechanical troubleshooting.

Qualifications:

• A Certificate or AAS Degree in electronics or a related discipline is required.
• Strong experience with electronics and electro-mechanical troubleshooting.
• Willingness to travel overnight.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a field service engineer.
• Experience servicing medical lab analyzers or other medical instrumentation is a plus.
• COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Install, service, and perform preventive maintenance on instrumentation.
• Build and maintain good customer relations.
• Coordinate problem resolution within the Field Support Group.
• Manage car inventory, including tools and trunk stock (parts).
• Provide basic on-site training on the operation of company instrumentation.

• Base salary range: $65,000 - $80,000, depending on experience (overtime and performance bonus could add an additional $4,000 - $8,000 annually, potentially more).
