Field Service Technician

Field Service Technician – $27+ (Hourly + $75 per diem when out in field)

Job Description:

  • Supervise the installation of equipment during on-site field visits.
  • Address and resolve customer reports of technical issues with equipment and perform routine repairs as needed.
  • Ensure excellent communication and service by building strong relationships with customers.
  • Validate that all newly installed or modified equipment meets applicable industry standards, company standards, and customer specifications.
  • Evaluate performance reports and inspect malfunctioning or damaged equipment to determine the root cause of the problem.
  • Analyze inspection reports to identify the source of the problem and provide recommendations for repair, replacement, or other necessary actions.
  • Collaborate with Field Service, Engineering, and other internal departments to expedite repairs and resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and submit reports to the Field Service Manager and Quality Department.
  • Identify recurring equipment issues in the field and propose corrective actions to inter-company departments for design, production, or service improvements.
  • Support the Field Service Manager in addressing customer inquiries related to equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, dismantle, and reassemble machines and equipment based on customer requirements and specifications.
  • Perform drilling, tapping, reaming, and aligning of components using hand tools or portable power tools.
  • Install moving parts and test their movement; handle pipe installation for lubricating systems.
  • Align and mesh gears in gearboxes and assemble gear systems, including drive motors and fan shafts alignment.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance tasks at customer facilities.

Requirements:

Regular attendance, punctuality, and ability to work on-site and overtime. Must have strong teamwork and customer service skills, and treat the public, customers, vendors, colleagues, managers, and executive management with respect. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with colleagues. Must be comfortable working at heights exceeding 50 feet and operating various mobile elevating work platforms. Strict adherence to company and customer safety requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment, following job safety analysis procedures, and completing any necessary paperwork and reporting for assigned tasks on the customer's site. Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with a minimum of two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
