Job Title: Field Service Technician

Location: Omaha, Nebraska

Salary: $65-75K per annum, plus bonus

Job Summary of the Field Service Technician: We are currently seeking a Field Service Technician who is capable of working independently, has excellent customer service skills, can provide technical reports, and collaborate with the Engineering team to enhance product development. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for assembling, commissioning, inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting systems both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications of the Field Service Technician:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Field Service position with decision-making responsibilities
  • Certification or degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time, including both domestic and international travel
  • Proficiency in writing trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
  • Strong knowledge of PLC’s is highly preferred
  • Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot systems using electrical schematics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows environment and software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Must be comfortable working at heights

· Experience with PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity is required. Familiarity with Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platform(s) is highly desired.

· Must currently possess or be eligible to obtain a valid passport (with necessary documentation for international travel)

Responsibilities of the Field Service Technician:

· Regularly engage with customers, end-users, vendors, and contractors.

· Assist in scheduling and coordinating the presence of relevant parties at the site to inspect and witness equipment installation, as well as participate in start-up and commissioning activities.

· Coordinate internally to ensure prompt responses to customer inquiries.

· Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment both on-site and remotely.

· Perform repairs on equipment installed at customer facilities, including both warranty and non-warranty claims.

· Conduct routine inspections of existing system installations.

· Ensure the accurate implementation of pre-commissioning activities in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation fields, while maintaining the quality of work and reports.

· Travel to customer sites for final commissioning and demonstration of equipment functionalities as per specifications, ensuring customer satisfaction.

· Support the project team in clearing mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation punch list items based on project requirements.

· Participate in project and construction meetings as necessary.

· Provide technical training to end-user operators and/or maintenance personnel.

· Serve as a troubleshooter, addressing technical issues on-site, analyzing and resolving faults, and being available to customers for further technical inquiries.

· Independently coordinate with customers or end-users to plan site visits prior to departure.

· Arrange all travel logistics (airfare, accommodations, ground transportation, etc.) independently.

· Provide direct technical support to customers, contractors, sales, and engineering for testing and field service activities.
