Job Title: Field Support Specialist

Location: Lansing, MI

Salary: $65-75K plus performance bonus

Job Summary of the Field Support Specialist: Our company is seeking a self-motivated Field Support Specialist who can effectively communicate with customers, generate technical reports, and provide valuable input to the Engineering team for product enhancements. As a Field Support Specialist, you will independently assemble, inspect, repair, and troubleshoot systems in various locations, both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications of the Field Support Specialist:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar field support role
  • Certification or degree in Electronics or Electrical field
  • Able to travel 70% of the time, including international travel
  • Proficient in writing trip reports, test reports, and corrective action reports
  • Preferably experienced with PLC systems
  • Ability to interpret and troubleshoot electrical schematics
  • Proficient in using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a Windows environment
  • Clean driving record
  • Comfortable with working at heights

· Expertise in PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity is required. Experience with Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platforms is highly desirable.

· Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport for international travel

Responsibilities of the Field Support Specialist:

· Regularly communicate with customers, vendors, and contractors

· Schedule and coordinate site visits to ensure proper installation and commissioning of equipment with all stakeholders

· Provide timely response and support to customer inquiries

· Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment, both onsite and remotely

· Repair and service equipment at customer facilities, including warranty and non-warranty claims

· Conduct routine inspections of existing system installations

· Ensure proper implementation of pre-commissioning activities and preparation of reports

· Perform final commissioning and demonstrate equipment functions to obtain customer acceptance

· Collaborate with project team to ensure completion of all mechanical, electrical, and automation punch list items

· Participate in project and construction meetings as required

· Provide technical training to end-user operators and maintenance personnel

· Respond to technical issues onsite, analyze and resolve faults, and address subsequent customer inquiries

· Coordinate with customers for site visits and make necessary travel arrangements

· Provide direct technical support to customers, contractors, sales, and engineering for testing and field service activities
