Job Title: On-Site IT Support Specialist

Location: Lansing, MI

Salary: $65-75K plus bonus

Job Summary of the On-Site IT Support Specialist: We are searching for a highly skilled On-Site IT Support Specialist who can provide technical assistance to end-users, handle customer interactions, generate technical reports, and collaborate with the Engineering team in suggesting product enhancements for the Product Development Group. The On-Site IT Support Specialist will be responsible for independently assembling, setting up, inspecting, repairing, and resolving system issues both locally and globally.

Qualifications of the On-Site IT Support Specialist:

  • At least 5 years of experience in an IT support role with decision-making responsibilities
  • Certificate or degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time (both domestic and international)
  • Proficient in writing trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs is highly desirable
  • Ability to comprehend and troubleshoot electrical schematics for system analysis
  • Proficiency in working within a Windows environment and utilizing Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Fearlessness of heights

· Experience with PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity is required. Experience with Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platforms is highly preferred.

· Must currently hold or be able to obtain a valid passport (with proper documentation to travel into and outside of the United States)

Responsibilities of the On-Site IT Support Specialist:

· Regular interaction and coordination with customers, end-users, vendors, and contractors

· Facilitate scheduling and coordination of relevant parties during equipment installation, start-up, and commissioning activities

· Ensure prompt response and resolution of customer inquiries by collaborating within the organization

· Perform on-site and remote troubleshooting of PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment

· Repair on-site equipment at customer facilities, including both warranty and non-warranty claims

· Conduct routine inspections of existing system installations

· Ensure accurate implementation of pre-commissioning activities in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation disciplines

· Travel to customer sites to perform final commissioning and equipment demonstration as per specifications for customer acceptance

· Assist the project team in resolving mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation punch list items according to project requirements

· Participate in project and construction meetings as necessary

· Deliver technical training sessions to end-user operators and maintenance personnel

· Provide on-site troubleshooting, fault analysis, and post-technical support to customers

· Independently coordinate all details of site visits prior to departure

· Independently handle all travel arrangements (airfare, lodging, ground transportation, etc.)

· Directly support customers, contractors, sales, and engineering in testing and field service activities
