Job Title: Field Service Technician

Location: Nashville, Tennessee

Salary: $65-75K plus bonus

Job Summary of the Field Service Technician: We are seeking a self-motivated Field Service Technician who excels at customer interactions, possesses strong technical writing skills, and can provide valuable recommendations to our Product Development Group. The Field Service Technician will be responsible for independently assembling, commissioning, inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting systems both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications of the Field Service Technician:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Field Service role with decision-making responsibilities
  • Electronics or Electrical certificate or degree
  • Ability to travel approximately 70% of the time (both domestically and internationally)
  • Proficiency in writing trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
  • Highly preferred knowledge of PLCs
  • Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot systems using electrical schematics
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a Windows environment
  • Clean driving record
  • No fear of heights

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity
  • Experience with Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platforms

Must currently hold or be able to obtain a valid passport (with proper documentation to travel into and outside of the United States)

Responsibilities of the Field Service Technician:

  • Frequent interaction with customers, end-users, vendors, and contractors
  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating the participation of stakeholders for equipment installation and start-up activities
  • Coordinate internally to ensure timely response to customer inquiries
  • Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment both onsite and remotely
  • Perform repairs on equipment installed at customer facilities, including warranty and non-warranty claims
  • Conduct routine inspections of existing system installations
  • Ensure proper implementation of pre-commissioning activities and produce high-quality reports
  • Travel to customer sites for final commissioning and equipment function demonstrations
  • Support the project team in clearing punch list items as per project requirements
  • Participate in project and construction meetings as necessary
  • Provide technical training to end-user operators and maintenance personnel
  • Independently troubleshoot technical issues onsite and address subsequent queries from customers
  • Coordinate details of site visits with customers and/or end-users prior to departure
  • Manage travel arrangements including airfare, lodging, and ground transportation
  • Provide direct technical support to customers, contractors, sales, and engineering during testing and field service activities
