Field Service Technician

Job Title: Onsite Service Specialist

Location: Harrisburg, PA

Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 plus potential bonuses

Job Summary of the Onsite Service Specialist: We are seeking an independent and customer-oriented Onsite Service Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing system assembly, commissioning, inspection, repair, and troubleshooting tasks on a domestic and international level. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Engineering team to provide valuable improvement recommendations for our products.

Qualifications of the Onsite Service Specialist:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a service role with decision-making responsibilities
  • Certificate or degree in Electronics or Electrical field
  • Willingness to travel up to 70%, both domestically and internationally
  • Proficient in writing trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
  • Preferred knowledge of PLC systems
  • Ability to interpret and troubleshoot electrical schematics
  • Strong proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Clean driving record is required
  • Comfortable working at heights

Experience in the use of PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity is vital. We highly value experience with Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platforms.

Must currently hold or be able to obtain a valid passport (with proper documentation to travel into and outside of the United States).

Responsibilities of the Onsite Service Specialist:

· Engage with customers, vendors, and contractors to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

· Schedule and coordinate all necessary parties for equipment installation inspections and start-up activities.

· Respond promptly to customer inquiries and provide timely internal coordination.

· Perform onsite and remote troubleshooting of PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment.

· Repair onsite equipment at customer facilities, handling both warranty and non-warranty claims.

· Conduct routine inspections of existing system installations.

· Implement pre-commissioning activities in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation disciplines, maintaining high quality standards.

· Travel to customer sites to perform final commissioning and equipment demonstrations, ensuring compliance with specifications and obtaining customer acceptance.

· Support the project team in clearing and signing off mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation punch list items.

· Attend project and construction meetings as required.

· Provide technical training to end-user operators and maintenance personnel.

· Act as an on-site troubleshooter, analyzing and resolving technical faults, and providing ongoing technical support to customers.

· Coordinate and organize all site visits and travel arrangements independently.

· Assist customers, contractors, sales, and engineering with testing and field service activities by offering direct technical support.
