Finance & Lending Legal Counsel

Location: Houston, TX

Our client, a nationally renowned law firm ranked in the AmLaw 200, is searching for a highly skilled and motivated Legal Counsel to join their Finance and Lending Practice Group based in Houston.

Required Qualifications:

• Possession of a JD from a prestigious law school with a strong academic background.
• Active Texas Bar Admission.
• 2–4 years of substantial experience in finance, lending, and commercial real estate laws.
• Proven experience in representing lenders during the planning, negotiation, documentation, and resolution of various loans, including syndicated credit facilities, participated credits, equipment loans, working capital loans, asset-based loans, loan sale transactions, and distressed real estate matters.
• Proficiency in handling commercial real estate transactions, particularly with financing for multifamily, office, retail, industrial, and mixed-use projects, as well as distressed real estate.
• Preferably, formal education or a background in Finance and/or Secured Transactions.
• Keen attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and involvement in the Houston community.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Represent lenders in structuring, negotiating, and documenting various loan types, including syndicated loans, asset-based loans, and working capital loans.
• Provide legal advice to clients on real estate finance transactions, including financing for the acquisition, development, and construction of diverse commercial and residential properties.
• Collaborate closely with senior attorneys to support client transactions, offering comprehensive legal guidance on complex issues.
