Fire Protection Engineer – Remote – multiple roles

Fire Protection Engineer (Industrial / Manufacturing)

Location & Travel:
Remote positions with 10–25% nationwide travel as required. All roles are full-time, salaried, and include a comprehensive benefits package.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and document fire protection designs, including sprinkler system criteria, hydraulic calculations, fire pump selection, and fire alarm layouts

  • Review and provide detailed feedback on fire sprinkler and fire alarm contractor shop drawings

  • Conduct field surveys, system inspections, and acceptance testing for fire protection systems

  • Analyze design documents for compliance with local and national codes, including NFPA standards

  • Perform code research to support the development of alternative compliance strategies

  • Prepare technical reports, letters, and memos in collaboration with engineering team

  • Assess hazardous materials in manufacturing and storage environments

  • Utilize performance-based design tools such as fire modeling and egress calculations to support project planning


What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection, Engineering, or a related discipline

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in fire protection across sectors such as industrial/manufacturing (chemical, consumer goods), food/paper, warehouse, hospitality, or education

  • Background in any of the following areas:

    • Design and construction services

    • Suppression and notification system testing

    • Smoke modeling and egress simulations

    • Dust hazard analysis

    • Forensic fire consulting

    • AutoCAD, REVIT, or BIM 360 tools

  • PE License (Professional Engineer) – preferred but not required

  • NICET Certification (Level I–IV) in Fire Alarm Systems, Water-Based Systems Layout, or Special Hazards Systems – highly valued
