Fleet Manager - Commercial Fleet

We’re hiring on behalf of a growing trucking company headquartered in Upstate South Carolina. With a significant expansion underway—fueled by long-term contract awards—they’re seeking a skilled Fleet Manager to oversee the maintenance, compliance, and operational readiness of a large and active fleet.

About the Role:

The Fleet Manager will be based at the company’s primary terminal in Duncan, SC, managing the upkeep and service of a fleet consisting of 80+ trucks and over 300 trailers. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in commercial vehicle maintenance or operations, along with a structured, solutions-focused approach to fleet management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily fleet operations from the Duncan terminal (Monday–Friday schedule)

• Manage vendor relationships for maintenance and repair services

• Schedule and monitor vehicle service using telematics systems

• Coordinate prompt and efficient road service for breakdowns

• Review, validate, and approve repair and maintenance invoices

• Develop and implement a consistent pre-trip inspection program

• Share limited after-hours support duties (standard hours for most routes)

What We're Looking For:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in commercial fleet maintenance or operations

• Solid mechanical knowledge of trucks and trailers

• Familiarity with DOT regulations and ability to train drivers on compliant inspections

• Strong communication skills with a service-oriented mindset toward drivers

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and telematics platforms (e.g., Samsara, Motive)

• CDL-A license is a plus, but not required
