Responsibilities:
- Oversee and lead all quality and food safety functions at the plant level, ensuring that all products meet or surpass customer, regulatory, and company standards.
- Provide guidance and direction to the Quality Assurance team, fostering their development and motivation to achieve company quality and food safety goals.
- Implement food safety processes and procedures to monitor raw materials, in-process, and finished products, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Enforce the company's FSQA standards outlined in HACCP, LCP, Salmonella/Campy standards, quality manual, and other programs, while maintaining necessary documentation.
- Organize, staff, and train the Quality Assurance department to effectively meet plant and departmental goals.
- Lead and oversee food safety efforts within the plant.
- Keep plant and upper management informed of any issues and support the achievement of quality and food safety goals.
- Act as a liaison with USDA staff, building and maintaining professional working relationships.
- Enforce corporate food safety and quality programs, ensuring necessary documentation is maintained, and provide ongoing education to plant associates.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or related field with a minimum of 10 years' experience in quality or food safety setting.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a quality supervisory capacity (management strongly preferred).
- A minimum of 3 years' experience working in a poultry plant.
- HACCP certification is essential.
- Experience leading a food facility in GFSI compliance (BRC, SQF).
- Familiarity or expertise in digital databases and data collection platforms (e.g., Safety Chain, etc.).
- Thorough understanding of management principles and team concepts.
**Candidates for this position MUST HAVE poultry industry experience.**
