FPGA/ASIC Design Engineer – TS/SCI w/ FS Poly Clearance Required

Location: Fort George G Meade, MD
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused digital design engineer to work on-site at our mission-oriented facility in Lovettsville, VA. This role requires a self-starter with excellent communication skills, as you will be collaborating with multiple teams throughout the design process.
We are currently looking for FPGA design engineers who have experience in FPGA or ASIC design, development, and verification using SystemVerilog, Verilog, or VHDL. As a design engineer, you will work closely with software and system engineers to conceptualize, document, design, code, verify, and debug ASIC, FPGA, and embedded firmware designs. We are seeking someone who is adaptable, motivated, customer-oriented, and capable of leading a small team while mentoring others and staying up-to-date with new technologies.
● Active TS/SCI Clearance with Full-Scope Polygraph (FSP) is required.
● Proficiency in VHDL RTL Coding for digital circuit design and analysis.
● Experience with FPGA design, synthesis, and P&R tools such as Vivado and Quartus.
● Familiarity with Verilog/System and Verilog test bench development.
● Working knowledge of Linux/Windows OS.
● Familiarity with design simulation tools such as Mentor, Cadence, or Synopsys.
● Strong oral and written communication skills.
● Onsite location at Fort Meade, MD.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience in Verilog RTL Coding.
● Expertise in front-end design and architecture of cryptographic systems for ASICs/FPGAs.
● Knowledge of using soft/hard IP cores in FPGAs/ASICs (e.g., Zynq, Microblaze, RISC processors, memories, flash/NVM).
● Ability to reverse engineer digital designs from different levels of abstraction (e.g., images, GDS2 data, netlists).
● Familiarity with ASIC implementation methods and tools (synthesis, physical layout using Cadence or Synopsys).
● Knowledge of formal verification tools.
● Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes.
● Proficiency in C/C++, Python, Perl, or scripting.
We have openings for Junior, Senior, Principal, and Senior Principal Engineers. A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Design Engineer in integrated circuit or microelectronic component design or reverse engineering is required. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university is also required. Alternatively, five (5) years of additional hardware design engineering experience can be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
