General Manager of Talent Management
We are seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Talent Management General Manager (Automotive) in Georgetown, KY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in talent acquisition, management, and development, along with excellent communication skills. This role requires someone who has a desire and ability to drive positive change and can interact confidently with all levels of leadership within the organization. Additionally, this position will involve mentoring and supporting the ongoing development of the training team staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic:
- Develop and implement the organization's talent management strategy, aligning it with long-term business goals and objectives.
- Drive a high-performance culture through the development and implementation of strategies.
- Identify areas of opportunity in organizational and team performance, design and lead implementation of solutions, and measure outcomes.
- Utilize KPIs to evaluate progress, set direction, and improve processes.
- Provide strategic guidance to HR Team, Division Heads, SBU Heads, and Executives regarding talent needs.
- Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with talent management strategies.
- Manage the talent management budget efficiently, optimizing resources for maximum impact.
- Continuously measure effectiveness of Talent Management strategies and improve programs as needed.
- Implement tracking and measurement approach to report status to SBU leaders.
- Provide executive updates and program report outs of performance health within designated SBU’s when necessary.
- Act as a catalyst for leadership development and commitment during high velocity culture change.
Talent Acquisition:
- Collaborate with executive leadership to determine talent needs and plan workforce accordingly.
- Manage and oversee the entire hiring process, from planning to selection and offer.
Talent Management:
- Plan, implement, and manage the performance management process, including goal setting, feedback, and evaluations.
- Identify and develop high-potential employees for future leadership roles through succession planning strategies.
- Establish talent pipelines to ensure a strong leadership bench for the future.
- Assess the effectiveness of talent management initiatives using data and metrics.
- Monitor key talent metrics, such as retention, engagement, and development progress.
- Develop and implement retention strategies to retain top talent and reduce turnover.
- Address factors contributing to employee attrition and take necessary actions to retain talent.
Talent Development:
- Execute employee, leader, and organizational learning programs from start to finish.
- Administer career and talent assessments to identify employee readiness, talent gaps, and retention risks in collaboration with HR and business leaders.
- Work with managers to identify training needs and create learning opportunities accordingly.
- Manage corporate university with a comprehensive focus on vision, communication, competency mapping, data analysis, and business value creation.
- Design position-specific training and development plans aligned with career progression paths for each position type.
- Design leadership development programs to foster leadership skills at all levels and address succession gaps.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate for the position of Director of Talent Development should possess a Master's degree in HR, OD, Business, or a related field and have 10-15 years of experience in Learning & Development. The following experience is also desired:
- Expertise in talent acquisition and management processes.
- Experience in performance management cycles.
- Strong background in long-term succession planning.
- Previous experience in a large cross matrixed organization.
- Demonstrated resiliency in a large company environment.
- Proficiency in scalable classroom-led and eLearning solutions.
- Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
- Experience in managing and delivering multiple projects independently.
- Proficient in lesson and curriculum planning skills.
- Experience in project management.
- Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts.
- Strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred certifications in psychometric and assessments.
- Experience with Gallop Strength-Finder, DiSC, PxT Select, and 360 Profiler is a plus.
- Preferred credentials as a DDI Certified Facilitator or other similar applications.
- SHRM – SCP/CP certification is a plus.
